Ok...I am brand new to this thread and late to the game. I just purchased the MB-60 and really find the instruction manual awful!!!! My understanding is that you could cycle through effects using the foot switch. I have saved simple effects and named them and assigned them a foot switch order. Then I try and use the foot switch to cycle through the effects and I find I have 2 or 3 effects running at once and when the foot switch is off (no light) I still have an effect running. I know I'm the idiot who isn't doing something right but can someone please tell me how to just set this up so I can select the effect I want and then have the box pass through when not in use. I am also looking for a set-up to mimic the effect for Stranglehold. Thanks a million!.....Yes. I just realized this a forum for the B-3 and not the baby device I have.

The scroll function of the 60B is made for patches,not individual effects.Make a patch with only one effect in it and you are done.
In case you want the unit without effect you can make one empty patch,or you can use the tuner as empty patch.
There is the 'Splitter' which is a cross over meaning you have two volume controls for high and low and you can select the frequency you want as the cross over. The only problem being that the highest you can set is 2.5kHz.
The only way I could almost everything above 6k was to use the para eq at 10k and 20k with the Q set full wide on20k and half wide on 10k and both gains at almost -20
And that takes the edge off and makes the fuzz pedals sound nice
I don't have any specific patch notes to share (i.e. I don't have a patch that sounds like X player/song, etc) because that isn't how I use mine, but a quick update to my earlier post - I think it was running the B3 after a compressor that amped up the digital noise. So, instead, I reworked my three-pedal patches to all start with an internal compressor, followed by 2 effects. I really like the dbx160 model for compression, it turns out, and I very rarely need more than 2 effects on at once so it works out ok.
I've also swapped out my main Univibe sound for a vintage flanger for the time being, and switched the fuzz from FuzzSmile to the Bass Muff, and the filter from AutoWah to a reworked ZTron.
So I have my main patch - 160, SABDDI, Flanger; the bass driver gives me a tone that I can use for classic rock to new alternative, and the flanger is vying for all-around modulation duty (the Vibe was pretty Floyd-specific =0) )
...And my second-most-used patch - 160, Bass Muff, ZTron; Fuzz whenever I need fuzz, filter whenever I need filter. Oddly the ZTron gets a little muffled when pushed by a fuzz or drive, but it's my favorite filter sound in the unit.
I'm also working on:
- a "Pretty" (chorus and echo)
- a "Creepy" (vibrato and maybe something like a S&H or pitch delay)
- and a "Synthy" (Octaver and the combo autowah/dist effect).
That will pretty much cover anything I'd need in a scant 5 patches.
Should anybody be interested, I can put up my numbers. I do have all patches at a Total level of 100, and all my Compressor settings between patches are identical.

I wasn't offended. I just find that to be a weird nickname. other than that, I'm glad that my patch helped you out.
Here's a new patch idea I came up with. this patch was inspired by a certain youtube clip. this patch has a distorted bass sound based on the fender super bassman amp.

Me too. Along with most of the tracks on Graceland, Black Velvet is *the* sound I think of whenever I think of what a fretless bass sounds like.
But, there were at least 3 basses in that video and they all seemed to have frets
Hmm...I haven't noticed that. it does seem kinda odd that the bass player is playing fretted basses in the music video when the bass sound in the song actually came from a fretless.
Here's another patch I came up with. this patch duplicates the smooth digital distortion sounds of a digitech bass driver in the mixer output.

I got my B3 yesterday and....I LOVE IT!! I have to admit even after reading all the glowing stuff on TB about it I was still worried from reading the negative things from all the pedal snobs about it. All worries have been put to rest. It only took me an hour before rehearsal last night to download Edit and Share, plug it in and create some useable patches. Of the amp models my two faves so far are the SVT and Hartke. The DBX comp is pretty sweet too. I've read some pretty negative things about the dirt effects but to my ears they are very effective and don't get lost once the band kicks in.

I found a link to this patch library a while ago but I'm guessing that it will be missing a lot from this thread: Zoom B3 patch library after many being accidentally deleted by someone!
I like my B3 but I'm not that impressed with it to be honest (had it for a year now), so I was going to go through all of the patches I haven't tried to try and find some good ones and I thought that if I program them manually then I may aswell upload them so noone else has to.

I'm having the opposite experience. I actually LIKE the B3 better than the individual effects I had. Mind you I only had an MXR M87 compressor, a Hartke VXL Bass Attack (followed by an MXR M80 which I was totallly unimpressed with), a distortion/fuzz pedal and a Line 6 M5. You really have to tweak the settings of the B3 to get it's full potential. I play a Carvin LB75 - I heard a recording of my band playing Good Times Bad Times by Zep last weekend and it sounds like I lifted JPJ's bass sound right off the record. I used the DBX Comp - Graphic EQ - SVT. The next song I'm playing Girls On Film and I had that 80's midrange punch. It's an unbelievable pedal as far as I'm concerned.
It's probably me just being rubbish at programming it to be honest.
If it helps, I go straight into the B3 from my Mexican Precision and straight from the B3 to the mixing desk (so no backline, which often makes me wonder if that's the problem, but no-one in our band uses any amps, we're all straight to the desk). The pedal is also in passive mode at the back, since it's a passive bass after all.
Due to the above, is it best to leave the EQ on the desk flat? I argue this point almost every gig with my mate who does the sound, he says the desk has better EQ (it's an Allen & Heath, so, more than likely) but my point is if I use different effects with different EQs then it's just going to be bastardised by the desk is it not?
Would appreciate hearing other opinions on it, I don't think there will be too many people that don't use a backline though.
