Zoom H4 vs. Boss Micro-BR

Has anyone tried some serious direct recording with the H4? How might it compare with a mid range external soundcard like the Focusrite sapphire?
I know this is an older topic, but I'm curious about the Zoom H4. Do those who've used it feel it's good enough to record a decent demo. Our cover band could use a new demo, and our technical knowledge on recording is a bit limited. Would it be easy enough to set this up at a gig or rehearsal and get a demo recorded that way, or is the quality really not that great?
