Zoom R16 as an interface

Does anybody use the Zoom R16 as an interface? Is it possible to record eight tracks simultaneously onto the computer with each track being separate?

Umm not as a interface but just as it so cant really help u sorry.

I think you could do that though.Waaay beyond me though.

yes the r16 works great. you record the 8 tracks on the r16 then transfer them to your computer, each track is individual so you have 8 seperate tracks. also works well as an interface.

by interface i meant controller for software. but no it records to the r16s hard drive then you transfer it over.

Correct. Record 8 to SDHC Card, then transfer. Or Record 1-8, then record 9-16 and transfer.

I use the R16 for recording 8 channels live off a Soundcraft MfXi mixer, then take it off the card into Logic Pro. Typically I'll record an entire 4 hour gig then split it all up and keep or dump what's good or bad later.

In this product video it says it can do 8in/8out as an interface at 44.1khz. Which is awesome, but i can't find anywhere else that will confirm this information... including you guys.
