After Bill and Pat sold their Pickup business to Clyde Clark in 2012, I spent a good deal of time with Jim working on the manufacturability of his Pickups as well as spending time at several NAMM events in Anaheim talking to potential commercial customers. I may have met some of you there!
I consulted with Bill Bartolini for a few years and met Jim Reed during this period when he was discussing Pickups with Bill. Bill tested a few of Jims pickups for frequency response and, after seeing the results on the first few sets asked: "How did you do this?". Pat's response was less technical, telling Bill to "Stop talking to him!"
It happily turned out that the same issues that are present when using coils to control movement are nearly the same as those when using Coils to detect string movement.
I have a background in Systems Engineering in Semiconductor Technology, working in Silicon Valley for the majority of my 45 year career. My main interest was particle beams, specifically Electron and Ion Beam Lithography Systems. In this capacity, I became well versed in the use of Inductive Coils for controlling and moving those beams.
I have some Spector basses (old ones) coming for sale. Stay tuned .. Also some Music Man Stingray basses from the 70's!
Good Afternoon
I apologize for delay, just got home from work.
Can you do $220 plus shipping to Austin? I’ll look up and get a shipping estimate and forward shortly.
I’m am estimating a box size 20x12x4 with weight of 10lbs. I will look up on pirate ship.
Thank you
One Way, who are you gigging with currently in the Chattanooga area?
One Way
No, not currently. I’ve been looking for a band to join or to form a band here in the area
I'm sure some of you have put the parallel/series mod in your Jazz bass. I would like to put a 1K trim pot in the circuit to reduce the output when in series. I used the circuit diagram from the Seymore Duncan site and the mod works great , except for the output bump. My question is where in the series circuit do I put the trimmer? Thanks in advance...
Rejected by fmic? Any more info on these jackie? I just bought a cv stratocaster in asia with the jackie headstock. Great guitar but the jackie name has been a mystery. Any info appreciated
Iristone
Some of them are sold as "B-stock re-labelled". The specs are in line with the new Indonesian CV's, so they could be either B-stock or a test run of the new Chinese production. Beware though that there could be fakes, or mislabels: I've seen some J Mascis Jazzmaster guitars being finished and sold as Modern Player Jazzmasters.

Hi I gave away the SVpre. Like I said it’s pretty transparent, the eq adds little I can’t do with standard eq including that on my Traynor amplifiers. The Gain can bring in a distortion that doesn’t sound particularly good or useful compared to other drive pedals I have (Scorpion, MBD3, DCX Bass, Xotic Bass BB, and the new Azure Drive 10th Anniversary). For eq I highly recommend the new Empress Bass ParaEq.
Broken Battery Clip

I played a gig earlier tonight with my active stingray, and when I got home, I tried to take the battery out to check it, and the battery clip got stuck and ripped off when I tried to take the battery out. Where should I go to get it repaired?
