Hello folks, I HAVE MOVED THE TWO REMAINING BASSES TO THEIR OWN THREADS. THIS LISTING WILL NO LONGER BE BUMPED.
I've now sold 6 of the 8 basses from my last purge, and now, I'm having to step up my game on account of a vintage P Bass I just purchased this week. The selling of these particular basses was not planned, but with the vintage basses getting my attention, these incredible basses that I searched long and hard for are now BASS-ically( hehe) redundant. Of course the collector in me says "THEY ARE NOT REDUNDANT! THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL! HOW GOOD THEY MAKE YOU FEEL HAVING THEM!!"
While this is true, even us elder statesmen at some point need to grow up. This is my attempt to continue making room, and to try to re-gain the respect of "the boss".
The selling of this group of basses hurts, but the joy of owning and playing the vintage Fenders should help mend the wounds. I also take great joy in having a new owner love what I send them. That helps too.
Trade ideas welcome on the last remaining two, but only as 2 fer 1.

Much played and well loved, this bass has beautiful "nitro" battle scars all over. About 8 pounds, 5 ounces. Plays and sounds exactly like you would imagine a fantastic, vintage-style, boutique, hand-made P bass would. Wearing new flats. I'm only able to let this go because I have another Moollon P that had a terrible mishap that I am restoring. Hopefully it will turn out as great as this bass. Bought here on TB.

Picked this up not too long ago here on TB to fulfill a dream. Wooten, Asian mysticism, etc. Alas, as comfortable as this bass is to play, I just don't connect to it like I do my more vintage wares. One observation to pass along: This is an active/passive bass with a switch. However, it really wants to be active, and sounds much better in active, with its active tone controls. In passive, the passive tone control is very subtle. In excellent condition, but has a small nick or two. Wearing roundwounds. There goes the dream...........

I found this beauty in the great northwest. I bought it from a luthier who was selling it for a client. I had the luthier do a tune-up fret level on it before shipping it to me, because there is lots of meat left on the frets. Why not! It plays and sounds amazing, as long as you can get along with the 70's style "U" shaped neck profile. The condition is amazing for a 75, but I wouldn't call it a case queen. The original tuners are too stiff for my liking, so I bought a new set of identical Fender 70's tuners, and that's a great improvement. Wearing new flats. The original tuners come included in the case.

I bought this from John Fox, who asked if he could buy it back if I ever decided to sell it. Well, in service to this community, I've decided to offer it here first. This is just a fantastic 57 AVRI, and showed me how great these reissues can be. It's a curiosity since 1997 certainly doesn't appear to have been a year Fender fans celebrate, but this bass just has IT! If you like a wide,flat neck, this is for you. Bass is nearly flawless, with a small mark or two. Wearing roundwounds.

I was on the hunt for a Fiesta Red Jazz Bass for a while, and as luck ( or not ) would have it, two appeared at the same time, A Moollon with the standard 3-knobs, and this beauty with the stack-knob arrangement. I've kept both of them around for several months now trying to decide which one to keep. I've decided to keep the Moolon. I prefer the neck profile on the Moollon, and it has a very dark ebony board I just can't let go of. I also have a Fender Japan Jazz Bass with a Stack-knob arrangement, so this well played and well loved AVRI will have to find a new home. It has battle scars all over, as well as some nitro natural relic'ing/crazing. Wearing new roundwounds.

Last but not least is this beautiful oddball I got here not too long ago. This is a beautifully crafted bass with a fresh take on a P bass. Controls are interesting, as there is a secondary tone knob which has the bass take on P tones at one end of the range, and Jazz tones on the other, all from one pickup. Since I only use my basses in my studio, I decided that part of the allure of this bass is it's aesthetic, and it belongs on a stage. So, I'm going to let it go, and chalk it up to me being able to play one of the more interesting a beautiful boutique re-imaginings of a classic P. If you're a car guy, you need to be a Deusenberg guy. Plays with little effort, and buzz-free. Wearing roundwounds.
