Maybe it's just me that I don't know the typical specs but was wondering what pus and electronics is mounted on this one.
Is it only active or is there a push/pull?

Sorry for not mentioning it -

1) Electronics are both active and passive Push/Pull

2) Nitro or Poly - almost certain it is poly but need to get the build spec to be 100%.

DANG! Nearly exactly what I've been looking for but I'd have to flip my Sadowsky NYC 4 (late 90's, no VTC) to do it.

Anyone interested in a complicated deal that would involve buying my Sadowsky so I could buy this one? ? ? (yeah, I know. . . . . L O N G shot but can't hurt to ask)

If it's a Classic it's Nitro. And since you say it was commissioned by Kirk, it's gotta be Nitro as that is his preference.

1) Is it Nitro or Poly - wish I knew how to tell for sure - I did write Jimmy to see what it was. If Kirk Powers only does Nitro then it is probably Nitro.
2) It is 3300 shipped CONUS - no case it will ship in a gig bag or local pick up if it works out.

Thank for all the interest - will get back to all of the responses tonight.

It is a laquer finish - (Nitro) and Jimmy had said that Kirk Powers actually wired this bass. The bass is considered an LG Classic.

I received an overwhelming response to this. I believe I have gotten back to everyone so far. I won't ship international. But will take Paypal for the right person.

Wow real nice.
Dumb questions -
are these active? What do the controls do?
Also - real clay dot inlays?

Answers.... for TimBosby

1) controls are V/V/T, treble boost, bass boost; the second V control pulls up for passive mode.

2) I believe they are wood dots - but not certain

And you are right the bass is stunning and sounds like a 60's Jazz - strung with DD Chromes.

thanks Nozkcb any trade that gets me a great 5 string with equivalent value I am interested in.

Still available

This may have been my bass at one point. I know when I got my second one Kirk or Jimmy told me that Kirk had wired it up to go to NAMM. Not sure if Kirk actually owned this one or not. I can't speak for THIS bass but the coloring and everything seems spot on and the one I bought was from the 2008 NAMM show. IF this was my bass it actually has a Dalbergia Negra Fretboard (The ONE and ONLY TRUE "Brazillian" Rosewood!)instead of Indian Rosewood. Jimmy's Indian rosewood was MUCH redder in the ones he was doing then. I got East Indian on one of my LG5's and it was no where near as dark as this board. Both of the LG4's (identical spec to this one except the Dalbergia) had a very DARK Chocolaty color to them as this one appears to have. It looks very dark in the pics from what I can see to be Indian... I would double check with Jimmy but if it was mine it was also shot in NITRO by a guy that Sprayed for Fender for over 50 years and is a VERY special bass and one that I wish I had back. Unfortunately I can't buy her at the moment but whoever does is buying her for less than I sold her for when I sold her originally IF this is the same bass??? IF it is the same bass it has an INCREDIBLY resonant body AND neck and the notes just jump off the bass from the first fret to the last and all the way up and down the neck...Definitely one of THE SWEETEST basses I have ever owned for sure....

Now if this is NOT my former bass I am sure it is in the same ballpark as my old one so it still sure to be a great bass and is a definite bargain at this price! Wish I had something to trade for her but I don't...GLWTS!!

Peace,

T

Question was - is it Dalbergia Negra Fretboard- and I do not believe so - Jimmy did write me earlier and said he did not have great records from 2008.
