Details

Up for sale is a really unique bass. It is an original 1969 Fender Precision Bass in original Sonic Blue. Sonic Blue was a custom color and very few were made in the 1960's. It was completely a custom order back then. This bass is sonic blue from the factory, thus highly limited in the amount produced. I had this bass appraised at Mandolin Brother's in Staten Island, NY several years back and the owner of Mandolin Brothers stated he had never seen one in person, that is how insanely hard it is to find an original sonic blue Fender from the 60's. The bass will also include the appraisal from Mandolin Brother's.
This is the appraisal from Mandolin Brothers:
Neck stamped: 5 543 129B
Pot Codes: 1376642 - dating them the 42nd week of 1966
Serial Number: 280869 - Dating the bass between 1968-1969
Bridge is original
input jack is original
pickup is original grey bottom
pickguard is original
knobs are original
Body Finish is original nitro-cellulose Sonic Blue
Frets are original
Tuners are original
String Tree is original
Bridge and Pickup covers are original
Nut has been replaced
They classified this bass as in excellent condition

This bass is truly unique. It is currently strung with TI Flats and plays and sounds as you would imagine a 1969 Fender P to.

Bass will be sent tracked, insured, and direct signature will be required. Payment via paypal. Local pick up of course is welcome. I understand this is a really special bass and please PM as many questions as you need. Thank you for looking and have a blessed day.

Wow, dude. Just.... wow. That is a truly unique specimen. Someone is going to have a great time with that.

Super jealous - gorgeous bass!
Thank you. I hope who ever gets this will enjoy it as much as I have

Who said post CBS Fenders were never going to amount to much!
Really lied the way your sonic blue aged to a green tint.

Curious ,, just because it's not mentioned either way.

That is truly amazing. Unfortunately way out of my budget, but some friendly (and unsolicited I realize) advice: you should take it out and get some daylight photos if you can. Anyone who would be serious about buying would want that I would think. Good luck - my jaw is still on the floor!

Very sexy bass!! I have a '69 P refin in Seafoam Green nitro that I just adore. I'd be heartbroken if I had to part with it.

+1 to better photos, as that's what made me fall in love with & buy mine.
