OKAY ... This one is special. If money wasn't an issue, I wouldn't even be considering this. I just spent some time with Pete Skjold and he gave it a look over and make sure it's just right!
The tone ... it has a very flexible upgraded preamp from East. It wasn't the original pre, but the owner requested that Pete special order this top-of-the-line pre as an upgrade. Recently, i've been running it passive because it's just that sweet and warm. The sweepable mid selector can get you any array of mid's you may be looking for. This bass is great for soloing up high, having a huge warm, but very distinct tone that will cut through the mix, a bark that will make you smile. The alder body gives the warmth and the ash neck with purple heart string gives you the bite you need.
The playability ... like butter! even all of the way up the neck. NO DEAD SPOTS! Truss rod works perfectly. Action can be low low low ... I dig in a little bit, so I have it at more of a medium setting. The bridge is adjustable and is currently set around 18mm.
The look ... stunning. The top is a premium upgrade and pops on stage / camera. In excellent condition !!!!
