Details

Millennium 5 Plus, Tiger Eye (sunburst) finish. Has highly figured birdseye/flamed maple neck, abalone dot inlays, matching headstock, stock Hipshot hardware, J/MM pickups (J is a stacked humbucker, MM is a VFL, like in the Cirrus) 18v Millennium preamp (Volume, blend, 3-band EQ with sweepable mids), 35" scale length. Neck is thin, front to back, and plays beautifully. Action is easily set to around 2mm at the 12th fret, with no buzz. It has a small hole in the finish, on the back. Also, there is a chip in the finish on the headstock. Purely cosmetic, and not very noticeable. I've included pics of them. Comes with original Peavey hardshell case. Weight is roughly 9.6lbs via bathroom scale method. Asking $600.00 shipped to the ConUS. PM me with questions. Thanks!

Was this from the Peavey custom shop? I don’t remember ever seeing a factory Peavey that looked this nice.

There were several variation of the Millennium, and I would say this was top of the line, but I don't think there was any Custom Shop version of these, only Cirrus basses. I've studied Peavey basses over the years, but, as with anything else, i could be wrong!

Very nice. It's a good thing I'm not much into 5s or I'd be under the poorhouse rather than just in it.

I've got a 4st Milli+ in green flame with the matching HS and the abalone markers too. The maple FB on mine is highly figured but without as much or consistent birdseye as yours. I've never heard of these being offered through the custom shop either...only the Cirrus.

I've had Milli+s with very plain necks and Milli Standards that were absolutely sick with birdseye... so much that it was a distraction...couldn't see the side markers clearly.

Didn't mean to hijack, just adding to your response @phillipkregg

I just got a 4 Plus yesterday with plain maple neck & headstock and black dots, in Peacock Blue transparent. Still a heck of a bass, and one of the best 4-string necks I've put my hands on. They really thinned the neck on the 5's compared to the 4's.

My first one was just like you described... got it from 789string in 2014. My go-to is the plain metallic peackock blue one that I traded off to armybass and then I was able to trade back for it later. That bass just feels like home....glad to have it back. It's the one under this one when you search "Millennium".
...damn...I can talk this stuff all day...sorry to hijack again..

The last Mill 4 I had was the same color! I had a 4 JJ in Seafoam Green that I thought was a refin, but Peavey confirmed it was factory. Not a color they have ever advertised, to my knowledge.

I’m curious how the Millennium’s sound compared to the Cirrus’. Any insight?

There are similarities, as the bridge pickup is a VFL in a MM shell. The neck pickup is a split humbucker, as far as I know. The preamp is more or less a Cirrus pre, with an added mid sweep. So, the electronics are similar, but the woods and the neck being a bolt on puts it into a different territory. To me, a Cirrus is clean and hifi, and a Mill is a little more rock leaning, still clean, but with a bit more edge to the sound. With the mid sweep, you can dial in a bunch of tones.

Can't blame you, I'm shocked it hasn't moved already...for all of the basses that seem to sit in the classifieds for months on end, these Peavey Millenniums seem to sell relatively quick...
