This is painful. Period. I need to let this go to make room for a Pavel that's on the way. This one is a show stopper. It's one of the most beautiful instruments that I've ever seen as well as the best playing jazz that I've ever owned. Almost plays itself. Action is low-low-low. NO buzz. This is a REAL-DEAL Fender Custom Shop neck. I had the world - famous Kevin Brubaker install the glow-dot side markers.
I also had him refinish the All-Parts, USA Custom Shop body. This was a very long and involved refinish that took many coats and many, many hours. It was quite expensive to do, but we'll worth it as you can see.
The electronics are EMG (Bottom row = vol/vol/tone and top row is treb/bass/mid,mid freq stack).
Bass is in excellent condition and light (probably under 9 lbs, but I'll weigh her later). Action is insanely low. Playability is the best that you will ever lay your hands on (yes, that great). Tone is AMAZING and versatility is nearly unmatched! Incredible weapon!
With everything set flat (and tone control open), I'd say it's a bit more on the Hi-Fi / 70's Jazz tone side due to the pickup placement.
But you can cop almost any J tone thanks to the VVT and 3-band EQ (w mid-frequency sweep). Pretty amazing!
