SOLD - Andrew Drake (a renowned Iowa Luthier) makes beautiful basses that play great. This 2012 Model 7 is a wonderful example of Andrew's attention to detail. It is loaded with EMG pups (40P and 40J) and a recently added stacked knob to fine tune the bass and treble output that works very nicely with this bass. The bass weights just under 9 pounds on the scale, has a chambered Purpleheart core with Black Limba front and back making for a breathtaking instrument. Wenge neck and board (it's a 33" scale, 1 15/16" nut width, 18mm spacing) with more Purpleheart and Limba on the head stock, along with amazing inlay work done by Andrew's wife.
Just recently I had Andrew go over the bass and fine-tune it. It is in mint condition with no scratches or dings. Included is a very solid, like new Gator hard-shell case, $1400 shipped via FedEx ground insured to the CONUS - PayPal preferred! This is a bargain, as it would cost more than twice this price to have it built today. I have been asked why I want to part with this great instrument? It seems that I am destined to be just a 4-string player, because if this was a 4 string I would not be parting with it.
