For sale Pre 73 Lotus P Bass

These are awesome basses. I used to own a Cameo Deluxe that was kind of a short-scale version of this. Same Maxon pickup and they do sound excellent. That said, I always thought it was a single coil under the hood, regardless of having dual sets of pole pieces? I may be wrong, but I even seem to remember a thread where somebody took one apart and showed the single coil nestled in the middle of the pickup shell. I know other humbucker-looking Maxons were also single coils, including the one they put in their SG-style basses that looked like a mudbucker from the outside.
Either way, just thought it was worth mentioning as a lot of folks dig single coils too. Good luck with the sale!

Just another example of great Japanese lutherie from the “lawsuit” era. It’s interesting that these basses didn’t really start getting recognized for their good quality until fairly recently.
