Details

Here's something you don't see every day. This is an incredible instrument handmade in Brooklyn by legendary NYC luthier L.Ellis Hahn. She was Sadowsky's master luthier for years before starting her own company hand building her own unique designs.

Absolutely incredible feel and super lightweight at about 8.5 lbs.
Ash Body
Maple Neck
Highly figured Birdseye Maple Board with low action
Nordstand P/Big Rig pickups with Nordy preamp equipped with her very cool slider EQ
Volume, pickup pan, tone (works in active or passive) push/pull active/passive, treble boost slider, mid boost slider, bass boost slider
Beautiful sparkle grey gloss finish

Ellis did a universal route with this one allowing you to setup the P pickup in standard P configuration or reverse P. Your choice and the switch is easy.

Two pickguards included to accommodate either P configuration. Both pickguards are in like new condition. The bass is currently setup in reverse P.

18mm bridge spacing
This one can do everything from super smooth vintage tones to a growly bark that cuts through the mix.

If you love Sadowsky basses but long for a faster playing neck and unique ergonomic enhancements, look no further.

Ellis is a super cool human being and her creations are exquisite. This one is no exception. Fantastic balance and quality. This bass is in like new condition with the exception of a small hairline crack in the varnish only in the neck pocket. It is very hard to notice and if not pointed out, you might not ever see it. I tried to capture it in one of the pics. Ellis checked it out for me and assured me it will not move and is of no concern. There is even plastic on the back protecting against buckle rash. The finish is exquisite and everything about it is top shelf.

Will ship in a hardshell case or soft sided. Your choice.

Now for the eye candy. :D

$3,400 and we’ll work out shipping.

You might tempt me with trade offers for a 5 string... like pre-Gibson Tobias, Warwick Streamer Stage 1/2, 2011 or 2021 Streamer LTD, Muckelroy... feel free to make an offer. Maybe something else if you’d like to send me a PM. You never know.

Thanks for looking!

I own an L.E.H. and I love it! You can feel and hear her love and dedication in the bass. The new owner of the bass should love it... especially at this price!
Believe this man...he's a bad dude on the bass.

Ellis (they) is truly the kindest. They deserve all the praise, for their work and for who they are. The best.

Yes, for sure!

I really LOVE this body shape!

Yep. Be ordinary (play the same old designs) or be extraordinary. :)

Beautiful and interesting bass with a very cool configuration. Does this have a more modern vibe to it or does it do old school as well?

Thanks!

Want old school authenticity? Put the P split coil in traditional format and roll the pickup blend to the P pickup 100%. Nails the old school P bass. Dial in a little or lot of the bridge Big Rig pickup for bite and attack and bring on the funk.

But wait! Switch the P split coil to reverse P position for a tighter low end and blend as much of the bridge in as you want. Wonderful modern slap and finger style tones to be had.

And we haven’t even talked about the Big Rig soloed on its own. Doing so brings on a tight, punchy bite that is much more solid sounding than a typical jazz pickup in the bridge. That’s why a Big Rig was selected as it delivers big tone that balances with the P split coil which is often overpowering.

A versatile package for sure.
