Going off to its new home...

It's time to thin the herd. Here is a very nice (near mint condition) G&L LB-100 that plays, looks, and sounds great. The paint job is astounding--pharaoh gold firemist/rosewood fingerboard. Sounds like a good P-bass should. The weight is just under 9 pounds (approx 8 pounds 14 ounces).

Full disclosure: when I bought the bass new, (as seems to be the case with some P-basses) the upper coil of the pickup would buzz a bit if I touched one of the pole pieces while not touching any other metal part of the bass. At first that annoyed me, but in reality, it wasn't an issue on stage at all. But there is a wire grounding the bottoms of the pole pieces on that coil in the cavity that reduced the buzzing. You can leave it or take it out because like I said it never really comes up anyway when playing the bass (at least not for me).

Other than that, this bass is essentially new, and like I said, sounds and plays great. And that paint job looks absolutely killer under stage lights or in the sun.

Also includes original case, tools, paperwork, etc.

No trades at this time. Price is $1000 PLUS you will have to pay the shipping. Paypal F&F. My zip is 84660 and you can enter the weight as 26 pounds with dimensions 18x7x51.

---------------
I will also be listing a couple other basses soon: an upgraded white/maple Fender Player J-bass, and a Fender 70s Vintera J-bass in inca silver/rosewood.

Omg! Me want. Me want. What can I sell to make room?!

Ha, ha, you sound like me... that's the only reason I'm selling this bass and a couple others--to make room for another bass I just put some money down on.

I can let go of anything but my L2K. That and an LB-100, I could be set. Never bought a bass I haven’t played before but this is damn tempting.

Dude lives in Spanish Fark and I can guarantee there is no one in his vicinity with gear like his.

Haven't seen any G&Ls onstage around here. There are some players up in SLC with some nice G&Ls, though.

Fantastic bass!!
A matching headstock would have topped it off

I agree. When I bought it, I was thinking since it was custom ordered by the retailer, why didn't they go ahead and request a matching headstock? That color is fantastic and would look great on the headstock. There are a couple retailers that order all kinds of cool options from G&L.

Last time I was in SLC I did not see Guitar Czar. I had ordered a G&L from them before.

You may have dealt with them when they were up on the east side and Eric owned it? I used to go there all the time; I knew Eric pretty well. They moved to State Street when he sold the store a few years back. I've only been there a couple times since then.

My sister and brother-in-law in Orem have a great duo called Die Shiny. She plays a sparkly gold L-1000 (same finish as yours, I believe) and her husband has a matching gold sparkle drum kit.
Your bass is beautiful, by the way! GLWTS!

That would be a great visual onstage. The finish is a real eye catcher.

In fact... I'm starting to have second thoughts about selling it. It's definitely the best looking bass I own. And even though I'm more of a j-bass guy, it does sound very good (even to a j-bass snob such as myself's ears).

Just to reiterate: I stated that a grounding wire was added to the bottoms of the pole pieces of the pickup's top coil. This grounding wire eliminated all the ground buzz--it is pretty much dead quiet now. Also, cavity shielding was added at that time.

I'm still considering just keeping this bass, but I'll bump it a few more times in case someone is just dying to get ahold of it.
