Details

Up for sale is a one of a kind 1979 "Stone Logo" Fernandes Double Precision bass serial number 927XX. In reviewing the Fernandes Stone Logo era catalogs, this model does not show up. It is similar to the single P models, but those have traditional electronics. It is unknown if this is a custom model or modified.

The pickups are likely Dimarzio Model Ps which were popular in the era. The electronics & pickup configuration are very similar to the BC Rich Eagle (which Fernandes would copy in subsequent years). Controls include volume for each pickup, a master tone (which is very subtle - so much so I originally thought it didn't work), series/parallel switches for each pickup and a phase switch. The red tipped switch appears to have no function. There is a 1/4 inch output, as well as XLR output. The bass is passive.

The instrument features set-neck sen ash construction and a heel access truss rod. I can confirm the truss rod works as intended. Bridge is string-through design.

Weight on my bathroom scale is 9.6 lbs. It is currently strung with DR Hi-Beam 45-105. Bass will ship in a leather gig bag.

Discount for cash/local pickup otherwise Paypal F&F only. Buyer pays actual shipping for the carrier of their choice. You are welcome to visit my Reverb shop page for additional feedback: Reverb

Don't THINK the p/us to be DiMarzio due to the poles not being adjustable ????? I do believe they would have Allen headed poles ....

Cool bass. I bet the tone control has a 500K pot, or something higher than the normal 250K. I've found that does create a more subtle effect, but I like it and have added them to some of my passive basses on purpose.

GLWS.
