This Universal Audio 6176 is EASILY one of the absolute best Preamp/Compressor/EQ Combinations ever made. Bill Putnam's signature 610 Preamp and 1176 Compressor have been on tens of thousands of recordings over the years since they became an industry standard and to this day they are STILL Classics and sound incredible on anything you put through them. For me it has been Bass, Drums, Guitars, Keys, Horns, Strings, and Vocals. I call it the easy button of the studio. A friend and I had a studio together for about 15 years and have made some changes recently and this one is redundant. It is in good shape with a bit of rack rash from being moved in several different rack configurations over the years but is completely functional and sounds stellar. I see these listed for $1,500+ up to over $4,000 with some of them in far worse condition than this one.
