I am selling a prized Limited Edition Momose bass. This is an elite line from the Deviser shop in Japan, which also produces STRs. It was built in 2022 and I bought it new from Japan. It has only a few hours of at-home playing time and is in superb condition.
Bass #1 was built in 2022 as one of 6 instruments to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the Ikebe Music store. It has a one-piece ash body with an intense burl maple top and blue resin fill for a truly unique look. The headstock has a matching burl top. The body is finished in clear gloss on the front and transparent dark brown on the back. The neck is beautiful one-piece flame maple finished in satin with an ebony fretboard and blue-stained wood inlays (21 frets, 34” scale, 1.5”/38mm nut, 8.25”/210mm radius). Mojotone Classic J pickups. Aguilar OBP-2 preamp. Controls are: Volume, blend, treble and bass boost/cut. Mini-toggle is active/passive switch.There are no dents, dings or nicks and it sounds superb. Bass #2 is two-piece korina, with an imbuia burl top. I would call the finish ‘low-gloss tobacco burst’. The neck is roasted birdseye maple (1.5” nut, 34” scale, 8.25” radius), with a satin finish. Fretboard is ebony with 24 vintage/small gold frets. Hardware includes matching gold Gotoh string-through bridge and tuners. Pickups are Mojotone Classic JJs run through an Aguilar OBP-2 preamp. Controls are: Master volume, blend, vintage/passive tone control and stacked bass/treble boost/cut. The mini-toggle switches between active and passive. Bass weighs 9 lbs, 15 oz. There are no dents, dings or scratches. The only marks I could find were very light scuffing on the pickguard. It comes in its OEM Momose gigbag, with all papers and tools. Buyer to split shipping, or can do dropoff as far north as the SF Bay Area or as far south as SLO.
