Up for grabs is my Max Pre. Unit is in immaculate condition both cosmetically and electronically. No issues...all funtions work without issues. Very, very little rack rash if any. Front and rear panels look as new.

i never really tried to overdrive it. it does have a pre and post gain. max out the pre gain and control the output with ther post gain. variable crossover with low/hi and full range outs. xlr DI

not familiar with the ampeg...but if it has a power amp in...i don`t see why not. it drives my QSC RMX 850 to clip easily

can these be overdriven? i'm interested...i've even got a sweet peavey 8.5C stereo poweramp to mate it up with :D

I've got this pre- and like it a lot. Lots of tonal options. Indeed both sides can be overdriven, but especially the tube side is fairly nice. Note I didn't *love* the overdriven tone i got, but I think that's as much because I didn't search very long to optimize. Of course, it's not the same as a having a tube power amp, but it depends what you're after. I wanted something slight and got it.

Regardless, I REALLY like the ability to have both tube and solid state, and to blend the two. If you have (or can get) the footswitch to switch between the two (and I presume, between the blend of the two) it'd be really sweet.

I had one of these a while back, and kinda sorry I got rid of it. I just wasn't using it at the time, but now I've got a Yamaha P4500 I could pair it up with. Oh well.

The tube / SS switchable and mixable feature is very cool. I got hooked on it and that feature was key to my purchase of Genz Benz heads later on.
