Engagement ring in. Spector out :bawl:. Period. I'm sure you all can imagine how painful this is, but here goes...

Absolutely exquisite spalted maple top, extra thick slab of walnut core and alder back. I haven't seen another like this and trust me, I've looked! Neckthru construction, crown mother of pearl inlays on a smooth rosewood fretboard, stock Schaller tuners, brass nut, gold hardware. 35" scale, EMG 40DC pickups, EMG BQC preamp. Controls are volume, blend, concentric bass and treble, and concentric mid and mid frequency shift. Inside the control panel, there are switches to change the frequency of the treble control as well. The bathroom scale says it weighs 10.75 lbs. Comes with USA Cases padded gigbag.

This bass is in excellent condition. I can't find a scratch on it anywhere. I have it set up with such a smooth action that it's effortless to play. The B-string remains tight and solid tuned down to A with a .128 on it and I guarantee if you put on a .130 or larger, it will go down to G or F# (if you need that kind of thing). And now for the Spector porn...

Why?

My wife actually wanted a cheaper ring so we could spend money on things for our respective hobbies. She is a photographer. (Without getting into the reasoning that a ring regardless of value is just a symbol, etc etc etc).

Good luck on sale. You will regret this. That is a beautiful bass.

I bought my wife her ring last year, and sold a bunch of gear to help finance it. I have since bought most of it back in one form or another :-)
That's such a fine bass, you should try to find someone who will buy and hold it for you for a time until you can buy it back ...

Thanks guys but logicman is right...it's easier to find a good bass than it is to find a good woman!

I'm recovering from the ring thing myself. I hate to be the advice-giver, but if there's one thing I learned, it's to stay out of ALL wedding decisions! I thought my requests were simple and few. I wanted to take care of the music and the car to roll away in (my two non-human loves in life). My father has a '56 T-bird that he put a lot of blood, sweat, and money into. I thought it'd be great to use because it had some meaning to me. I WAS WRONG! I kinda wish we could just do the court house thing!

I second that! My decisions concerning the wedding were A) What band played at the reception (we had a killer 5 piece funk band) B) Food served; and C) My tux.. Everything else was left up to her and the moms. Just remember, this day has nothing to do with you. It's all about her. Your just there to look good and say "I Do" :D

I just picked up one of these beauties ... they are worth every penny, and at this price, this bass is a VERY good deal. Fortunately I was lucky enough to pick mine up just a few weeks after getting hitched :bassist:
