Pete is a stand up guy and was great with communication. Trust went in both directions in this transaction and everyone was happy in the end which is important. I'm so glad to see this quality instrument go to someone that will cherish it. Would definitely work with Pete again as a buyer or seller without hesitation.
Seller was honest enough to send me a great playing and looking bass at a fair price, but not honest enough to disclose it lived in a smokers environment. Gig bag is not salvageable for my use, but I should be able to fix the smell on the bass. Seller was not willing to receive a return, or financially compensate for withholding this important detail that contributes to the value of the instrument. Hate to leave this feedback for such a seemingly reputable seller, but these are the facts.
“OK, you’ve put us in an interesting position. I’ll give you a chance to make things right. It’s unfortunate because this is a really nice playing bass; I just can’t stand to be in the same room with it. I’m going to be pretty straight-forward on the options here. Option 1 is you refund and send me a shipping label to get it back to you. If over the next day, I think its possible for this bass to smell normal again, I’ll offer Option 2, a $350 refund to cover the fact that I’ll be throwing away the gig bag and replacing it, re-stringing and deeply cleaning the bass. I’m good either way and will consider the matter resolved enough to leave a positive feedback”
joined TB less than two weeks ago and in this brief time has purchased an instrument then made requests for partial or full refunds, due to an odor which was not present before shipping.
Deal with at your own peril. Strongly recommend to avoid doing business with.
