I'm extremely on the fence about selling this bass. I'm moving some guitars right now for financial reasons and this one kind of hurts . . . but I thought I'd throw it up to see if i can generate any interest.
I have 2 Nelson Basses from Bobby Nelson and I got this one earlier this spring as a total custom build for me. This is Bobby's new design for his Paramount bass and the new "refined" design is incredible. The specs for this bass can be found here (The Paramount - Nelson Instruments) although I'm not sure how accurate these are anymore because like I said, this is the second incarnation of this design. About this one:
The color is REALLY hard to photograph. We called it "lavender" or "sea-foam purple" but it is in reality probably more pink than lavender. But still really gorgeous. It's also a matte finish. So there is NO gloss what so ever. This might not be for everyone but it's still a beautiful guitar. I asked for a 1 pickup hum-bucker and a maple fretboard. I haven't seen him make another like this one. The hardware is all Hipshot. The pickup is his own design. It is quite punchy sounding. The neck is super slim and plays fast. One of my favorite necks on any bass I've ever owned. It's a very old-school design. Very vintage inspired and is one of my favorite guitars. Like I said, I'm only selling for financial reasons, not because I don't like this bass. I have 2 Nelson basses and something needs to go.
As far as weight goes, I have never weighed it but I can tell you it's very light. Ive played 3 hour shows with it and have never had a problem. The bass will ship in a clean generic gig bag but for a little extra i MAY have a generic SKB hardshell that might fit it and that case is essentially new.
Please PM me with any questions. If you like your basses "vintage-like" you'll love this one.
