This is one of the brand new reissue Tobias Classics and I am impressed. Excellent build quality and ergonomics. This one is in like new condition.
These sound absolutely killer with USA Bartolini electronics including radiuses Bartolini pickups.
So why a I selling it? Well, first, I purchased one of the new Killer B reissues and also the new Growler reissue along with this Classic. I absolutely love Tobias basses and so when these hit the market I had to try them. All of them! All three are fantastic but the Classic won for me. I was planning on keeping this one. Four weeks ago I had a significant surgery and the bills are rolling in... so I think I need to clear some cash and this is the one to go. I have an old 1989 Tobias Basic and that one fits me like a glove so I'll still have a Tobias in my arsenal. I do hope to get one of these new Classics again sometime.
I can still return this one and plan to do so on Monday but I thought I'd offer it up to my friends on Talkbass which will actually probably net me less after fees and shipping vs. just returning but I am still going to offer it up to you. Plus, as a bonus, I will send along a set of 5 additional knobs. You can see them in one of the pictures. The original gold knobs will come along of course but you may also select to have me include rubber lined knobs that sort of bring out the retro Tobias look (my personal favorite) or some wooden maple knobs that match the finish of the bass nicely. Or you can simply say I just want the gold knobs and none of the others. That's fine too.
Anyway, this one has a gorgeous figured quilted Maple top. The back is Walnut and the middle layer is Wenge. The fretboard is also Wenge and the neckthru is maple with Purple Heart. There's even some flaming on the neck. Very nice.
I really like the Babicz bridge which is super easy to adjust. This one takes really low action with excellent fretwork.

On my digital bathroom scale I'm getting around 9.5 lbs which is also what the retailer told me it was when I bought it. This is impressive for a neck thru 5 string.
Bartolini NTMB preamp with Bass, Treble, and Mid control plus 3-way mid frequency shift switch and pickup pan.
Will come with the Tobias gig bag. Plastic is still on truss rod cover and electronics cavity (though peeling off).
