Best Tolex Color Combo?

Okay, I figgered this is in the right place, as its basically a question on preference of "amp related topic".

I've decided to re tolex my Rattty furry looking Epifani 112 cabs.

What do YOU think is the best Tolex to go with my "most likley" refinished Black grilles?

I've seen some awesome looking cabs (especially in that 1x112 thread).
White looks awesome, but lets face it, these will see several gigs a month...so..
So far, I'm leaning toward the "wine"...Like this classy beauty:

If you have a pic of something awesome/cool/different lets see it.
(I'm also NOT against maybe painting the grill suttin other than black)
ps, as funny as it would be,(And it is a metal grille) I don't really play Metal.So that joke...maaay not have the impact we might hope.;)

All depends on what you want your cabs to sound like.

Black yields a very dark tone.
Aqua Blue gives a tone that can only be described as fluid.
Green, I find, has a very fresh, spring like sound.
And wine snake skin, well, makes any tone sort of thin. slippery, and stumbles frequently.

I think that Mesa stack is Beautimus!! Mos Scosious!! Desatively Bonaroo!! :hyper:

I also like the reverse of that. Tweed or blonde with burgundy grills. i'm just a fan of that "Real Vintage" look. Old Fender, Klipsch, Advent, etc.

I too like Mesa's Wine Taurus with Tan Cloth Grill look and had it installed on my LDS 12/6:

I was immediately very pleased looking at the Mesa rig the OP has... VERY pretty...

I've also really liked the dark green tolex I've seen on old Matchless amps...

And the light brown of an Aguilar can hardly be denied...

So many fun choices!

I actually put the cloth on over the original metal grill for extra reinforcement. You can barely see through the black unless direct light hits it (and still looks cool, actually) I folded it over twice for extra darkness.

I bought all the parts online - spent around $100 on the whole project.

Thinking on it, it seems to me that were re-covering my cabs, I'd think about the sorts of gigs I was playing... and the way I schlep my cabs... I wouildn't want a nice clean "baby blue" cover if I knew the cab was being tossed into a dirty pickup truck bed every weekend...

I made a 3/4" thick wood frame and stretched the grille cloth over it and stapled it on the back of the frame.

If you don't have enough space between the front of the baffle and the front edge of the cabinet, you're best option is to cloth over the metal.
