Ok guys here's part 2 of the walking bass series.

I've had a great response from the last one I did, as always I'm interested in your thoughts, questions, etc etc so fire away!

Here's the link for lesson 2 - [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

If you haven't seen the first lesson you can check it out here - [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Thanks again for checking out the lessons!

Ez,

Scott

Wow. Fantastic Scott.

In the last lesson I was pretty much able to keep pace with the video for the whole lesson (which made me feel very proud of myself). In this lesson I had to stop the video a few times, as this is a little more complex than anything I've done so far, which is great, because it's the first time I've been challenged in a while.

I'm looking forward to those packages.

Thanks Scott, I've been playing by instinct and ear for 20+ years, and watching and working my way thru these 2 videos have really helped me understand why some stuff works and some stuff doesn't. One thing I learned is I need to learn think ahead farther and also I need to learn my fret board better, as I was struggling to find the 3rd then the "chromatic approach note" of the next root quickly as I went from minor to major and back in the chord progression in real time. At least I know what to practice now!

Hey guys thanks for checking the lesson out!

Yeah - It'll definitely show you what you need to work on, but that's great! And, keep in mind that this stuff is quite tough - it really gets you thinking about the fretboard in a really musical way.

Take it easy,

Scott.

Hey, scott great lessons. you have a great way of teaching. Ive always been a bit afraid of walking bass lines. That lesson really helped me. A lesson on how you do this little rythmic fills and things while your walking would be cool. Thanks man

Scott...just ordered your backing track package...is the media on a disk or a flash drive? I'd be more than happy to pay a bit extra for your media/lessons on a flash drive if they are not already. Thanks a bunch. I've yet to find a good teacher that works for me in my area. The net makes for a small world. I really appreciate what you are offering us! Peace!

Nice job on the Jazz pack! I purchased them, and haven't gotten to the vids yet, but I'm sure they are great. I've been taking lessons, and started on Jazz about 6 months ago, and its funny that your lessons are almost step by step the same as my teacher's. Started off with ii-V-I arppegios then added the vi, then to F jazz blues to Autumn Leaves, but its great to have your lessons to have a reference to when I forget some of the stuff he taught me. Couple questions, what kind of practice regiment do you recommend if I have 1-2 hours a day available, and do you have any interest in a Jamerson style tutorial? I'm going to hit the Jazz and Motown stuff hard over the next couple of months, after taking a break from my cover band. Once again for the great learning experiences at little to no cost for a lot people.:bassist:
