After my first build the One-string Parallellogram bass, I want to make another bass. This will actually be my 3rd build. I have made a 2 string V-bass at school with a student (10 years), I am a teacher.
This time I will be making a 2 string $-bass after my 7 years old sons design. I do not have much tools, but I know I can do it. The bass will be 32" scale (maybe a 31"). Will be using Maple for the neck with 2 Wenge laminates. The Body will be Birch, not sure what the fingerboard will be made of yet, I have some Wenge that I can use as fingerboard. Thinking of an Oak fingerboard, but are not sure yet.
I will use P-bass Pickups on the bass, but will separate them as 2 pickups and use a blend pot... This build will take some time. Hope to have this build ready before school starts.
One question. What is the best way to cut out the space for the pickups as I do not have a router?
The body on the picture will not be used as I have made a mistake on the pickup space (do not know the english word for it)
Cheers
