It's probably worth e-mailing the guy. I think there were issues shipping to the States previously as the last basses were Rickenfakers and there were obvious trademark problems!

Was literally just about to post a thread about these, saw them the same way you did...

The body shape really intrigues me, but an MM style humbucker, with that *almost* 70's strat headstock, I'm almost in HEAVEN

That said, look at the way that neck is bolted on... Muy Odd.

I just sent the guy an email (to see if he would ship, and if he would make one a little differently than what is on the website), great looking bass, I tried to put in a "custom" quote, saw a guy on the website playing one that looked nothing like the ones on the site. Very cool! And even for the price, if the hardware and electronics suck I have no problem swaping them out... if I do buy it, will have to see if the GAS attacks are bad enough to buy it, but I am dboutful...

I'm not sure you'll get a custom order - I think he just specs them and gets a load made in China so he'd need a certain amount of demand. I think the other bass shown on the site was the last batch of Rickenfakers.

That's pretty close to what I wanted to do for my first ground-up build, but with a P/J set. I really dig the RICish body with the Fender-ish neck. It's even cooler than what it looked like in my head!

I think that its an MIC body, but a mighty mite neck
