jet & tort Rickenbackers?

Hey all,

I'm loving the Fireglo 4003 I picked up over the holidays so much that I'm starting to put some cash aside for another one! I've always had a thing for black basses, so I'm going to try to score a Jetglo one ASAP.

Also, I couldn't really find anything specific when I attempted a search, but I was wondering if anyone had a picture of a Jetglo 4003 with a tort pickguard on it? I figure since it looks great on a P or a J, it very well might look spectacular on a Rickenbacker...

I can't say that I ever recall seeing one with a tort guard, but I LOVE the idea! That Marcus Miller 5 on here that was posted yesterday or today with the black/tort combo is really hot. I bet a Rick would look fantastic w/ it. Especially if someone took a beater and redid the binding in tort!

I asked the same thing in the Rickenbacker Club thread. No response. I've only seen black and white pickguards on the Rics. Surely somebody has thought outside the box. :) They do offer them at Pickguardian.

I really would like to do up a jetglo Ric. Tort would look really cool. Also, they've got that black and silver paisley stuff which could look cool as well. Shame you don't see much aesthetic customization on Rics... but then they're pretty enough to a lot of people, I suppose...

Honestly, I think this looks gorgeous. I may have to seriously rethink my thoughts on getting a black pickguard and go with the tort.

That looks TOTALY SWEET. Kind of crazy to think that Rickenbacker never really went this route...
