I'm trying to make a new board.
The pedals are EHX Microsynth, EBS Octabass, Mutron lll+, TC Chorus, LoopMaster 5loop(mute+bypass), VHT Valvulator 1 and a Boss TU-2. Still need to buy the Loopmaster and the Mutron though.

The reason for the extra loop is...well GAS related - maybe someday a new pedal?

I'm thinking of using the VHT's extra output to feed my tuner as i then can have it on even when playing. And still mute my signal for tuning.
Does that seem odd, will it work or do you have a better idea?

Do any of you have experience with the LoopMaster?
I like the idea of having a master bypass but i'm a little worried that i might hit another switch (The mute...ouch) by accident. Can i have them put it "alone" so that the risk is lesser?

Any input or thoughts would be welcome.

And sorry for the very sketchy layout. Pics are taken from the internet. Since i own or are planning to bay these i don't think they'll have any problems of me using them. Otherwise let me know.

it looks good in terms of what pedals you got, some real nice ones there. But take it from me, that loooper is impractical. I have one just like it, its huge bulky and you need cables that are at least a foot and a half to make it worth it. Go out and buy some cables before you get the loooper unless you want to be disapointed. O and ship me that mutron for testing purposes, ill pm you my address PEACE

ok i haven't tried a Mutron myself yet but i've heard so many good things about it (Bootsy) and a friend of mine has one and maybe i can buy it. Otherwise i find it really hard to find a good touchwah that doesn't looses the low end. I've try a lot and so far only the EHX XO Micro Q-tron is convincing. A decent wooop in the top and still a lot of low end. Others sound either not whoopy enough or have no low end. Then i thought that the Mutron had a very decent rep so i couldn't go wrong. Plus me friend sounds really good playing it.
Others you would recommand?

So no love for the Haz Labs? It's expensive enough though!!!!

I suppose that all the originals are kept under locks and wont ever come up for sale?

Btw my MicroSynth is actually an old original and it sounds so much better than the Remake ( bass or nonbass model)

Well, EMMA electronic is based out of Denmark and they make a pretty good filter called the DiscumBOBulator.

I bought one used and I really liked it. Based on your earlier posts I don't know if it's "wet" enough for you as it is more subtle than most. But it holds the low end well, doesn't color your tone and sounds great. I'd put the Boomstick Bottom Feeder in that same category of great sounding but not really wild envelope filters.

I tried the "reissue" MuTron III+ and while I didn't hate it, it just was very blah. I haven't tried the original, but I've heard it often enough (live and in recordings) to know that they sound very different from the Haz Labs version.

If you want a touch sensitive and really juicy filter, I second the Qtron and Maxon suggestions and I'd also add the Pigtronix EP-1 envelope phaser which is my favorite.

While they aren't available right now, I am also really interested to see the new version of the Robotalk (from Xotic) and Subdecay's new filter. It will be a few months before either makes it to market though.

OK thx for the suggestions. Ill try to see if i can check them out.

I know the guys making the EMMA's and they're really good at making pedals but this one just doesn't rock my boat.

I just found an original Mutron for about $600 here in Europe. Thats pretty expensive! Plus i can see it has a really weird powerjack. There's a transformer with it but that's really big and what if something breaks in a live situation?

Hmm what to do?

what bass are you using again bro?

i tried several wah/filters (Q-tron, bassballs, dod fx25, mxr bass auto Q,
morley dual bass wah, maxon af-9 and the Emma).

EMMA sounded one of the best among those above listed however, I found it rather hard to dial the filter (i use a passive bass) and i pretty much have to turn the both knobs all the way down to get it =) but it does sounds yummy!

Honestly, while their are differences in all of the pedals, it seems to me (me, being key there) that if you want a top quality Mutron/Meatball style filter, you might as well go for the Robot Factory Meatwad. Its gotten a lot of attention on here lately, and seems to be well recieved by those that own it. Yeah, its pricey, but in regard to what your shopping for, its cheap (half of what you'll spend on an original Mutron, a third of what I've seen Meatball's go for).

That's what I was going to post. Stay away from the + it's crummy remake of what Bootsy, and many others use, use.
I like the use of the Valvulator.
I had the micro synth and opted for octave, fuzz and filter pedals instead. That way I can use each one individually or together to get a synth-like sound.
Oh I like phaser more than chorus specially when I run my phaser and filter together....:bassist:
