Here's the 2001-02 Beast that I picked up a few days ago. It was new old stock that had hung on a hook all it's life. It's pretty much brand new. Bartolini pickups and Hipshot bridge. Not sure about the tuners, but they look like Hipshots too.

I'm already in love with it. :bassist:

I need to take it outside in the daylight and take some pics of it. The color doesn't translate very well with the camera.

Btw, the bottom strap button is in an odd place to the other MTD's I've seen. Is this something particular to the Beast or are others this way?

Here's my Czech made Grendel. Although it doesn't read MTD on the headstock, this is one of the first models Michael had built in Europe. So it's a pre-MTD Grendel :)

Do I qualify?

It's more or less identical to the Saratoga that opened the show!

And it seems to have the strap button in the same place as your Beast, EagleMoon.

I take it that is the one that was on ebay last week? I had it on my watch list and really wanted it but had to pass on bidding. Too much other stuff on my gas list!!!!

That's a looker! What is the scale on that? The only thing that gripes me about the MTD 5's are the 35" scale. If that ones a 34" I need one!

Those are bartolini pickups? I've never seen a set of bartolini's with exposed poles before. :confused:
