Pointy basses!

Did a search and didn't see anything recent enough for bumping...

Surely I'm not the only one that has/loves pointy guitars...

Dean Demonator (not recomended, but it does look nice!)

Dean Z Vintage (Only comes in black. again, not recomended but pretty)

Moser Spawn. Like a Beast, but sexier and not all poky... My favorite bass out of everything I've played. I'd HIGHLY recommend Moser.

Out of curiosity... do you NOT recommend the ML because of the balance issue?

For me, the Z is just too damn long. 24 frets forced on a bass with no upper horn. Tbirds are even long and neck heavy with 20!

And the frets are... not so great. Everything else is OK, though... sorta.

The Demonator has Bartolini T4 knockoffs. Basically, your average import dual coil, but it can only be replaced by one pickup. Brilliant move, huh?

Apparently they sound GREAT with the real Barts and the preamp, but to me it sounds sorta lifeless. I sanded it down and am pretty sure the body is basswood, not mahogany.

This one is the neck through model. I bought it before they came out with the Metal Man basses.

...wow. That's pretty hot!!

No i dont reomend it because it sounds crap to my ears, the pups are warm and bassy, without any attack. the neck is the same width as an ibanez's 5 string neck, the frets aren't put in properly. the input is slightly to big and the lead can move around inside it, making it really annoying.

But it is really well balanced. when I put some EMG's in it i will like it a lot more.

subscribed. i love pointy basses, they're just too unbalanced for me to consider buying.

It depends on the bass.

What I look for is top strap button location. Usually, an upper horn helps a lot.

If it's on the neck heel, generally you'd wanna be weary. Some 20-22 fret basses work OK. I've never played a 24 that worked that way, though.

I like my buttons to be around the 15th fret (making them a bit longer than P basses). Some are at the 20th... oh... those are not fun.
