(the back story)
After selling off every bass I owned, I was searching the GC used site and was shocked to find a older used Spector Euro for $199.99 ... hmm (it was late at night) , I started a frantic search to see if anyone on TB was gonna beat me to it. I did a search and saw a older thread apparently the bass had a "bad neck." http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showthread.php?t=532581&page=28Well, a bad neck can me a lot of different things to different people and if I remebered right the first euro's had a RIC style trustrod.
I called the next morning and the salemen advised that the neck was bad, and wasn't sure if he could sell it. After I told him I wanted to take a look at it and would eat the shipping if I didn't want it (both ways) he finally aggreed to sell it to me
Well, The bass arrived in early December. $230.00 shipped with a guitar research HSC! I worked on the trustrod and both the clamp and the rod was stripped, but in talking to PJ Rubal @ spector I should be pull the rod straight out..... I couldn't
However, Spector would replace it and set-up the bass for $75.00 plus 2 way shipping. I shipped it to Stuart and company (seriously nice folks)
Today I got my bass back! It plays and sounds great & is signed by Mr Spector on request
