They're going to make 6-strings? Cool.
Considering the starting price of almost $5000 US, the Wals do not look like anything special. IMO, there are $3000 basses that look way better.
Do the Wals have a distinctive sound or something that justifies thier price?

i wonder what this will do to the value of the "pre-2009" instruments. ( kinda like the pre-cbs fenders)

o and even though $5k is ALOT of money for a bass... considering what some WAL instruments were going for on e-bay recently.... the price hike doesn't surprise me
Price for an instrument is very subjective.
It's not like buying a bread.
I have and love a Fender Tony Franklin. And I think myself that that bass is too expensive.
But I'm glad I own it... I had to pay the price.
One man's overpriced bass is another man's "I just need it and don't care what it costs".
I wouldn't mind a Wal myself, but at that price point it's nothing I would be obsessing about.

Considering how rare they are they don't go for that much relatively speaking.
I suspect a price-hike for pre-Herman Wals.
