Not a problem. SX uses mostly Swamp Ash or Alder. I don't think I have ever seen one out of any other wood. And I am speaking only of the Fender style basses. Squier is prone to Agathis(Vintage Modified) and Basswood(Classic Vibe) in the higher end of their line, although the VM jazz is soft maple. It just depends on the model.

And that also leads me to this. 11 parts to this thread. There is no way anyone can sort through all of them to get the answers to some questions....couple that with most not knowing to search "essex" instead of "SX" .... I guess my point is we should expect a lot of the same old questions to be asked new. And be nice to the searchers with the questions....

And I should pop a few photos of the new herd, especially since the 2 Geddy's are done. (Well, cosmetically anyway. both are playable now) I have to duck out of town on a short trip, but will snap shots after returning. The hard decision now is which bass will make the run with me!

Technically, this isn't a question about SX basses, but it has to do with some of the basses on rondomusic. Whether or not this should be posted here, I'm not sure, but I feel like if it should be asked in a preexisting thread, this would be it.
So I've been on the hunt for a 5 string bass for a while now, and I had my heart set on and Ibanez SR505, then an MTD Kingston Artist, and then I remembered rondomusic and I looked at the fivers there. I have an SX fretless Jazz, and it's ok, so I know a bit about them, but I don't know anything about the Douglas basses (mainly the WEB 825 and WPB-955T). Would they be an upgrade from my MIM P-bass? Would you suggest mods or anything?
