Double Bass Please, Help Identify My Bass

Hi,

I have had this laminated bass for somewhere in the area of twelve to fifteen years, though she has spent much of that time in storage due to my ongoing medical problems. I just retrieved her and started cleaning her up. I have never been able to locate any label or other identifying mark, so I thought I would post a few pictures and try to tap the collective knowledge of TB.

Any info will be appreciated.

100% correct in the case of my Bass, there is a large dovetail joint at the neck joint visible from the front.

Thanks to everyone for the info. I spent a lot of time selecting this bass because at that time I was on an extremely limited budget. I drove around for many months looking at cracked, broken, rotted piles of c**p (mostly old Kays) that the owners assured me were wonderful basses over the phone. This particular bass looked, played and sounded so much better than anything else I had seen in it's price range that I snapped it up without a second thought.

I am guessing that the previous owner knew little of this instrument. He called it a "Bond" Bass - unless he meant Bonn. As Ken said, unless I find some sort of marking somewhere, best to just call it Eastern European.

Now I just have to find a decent bag, the old canvas bag is totally rotted. I did a search about bags on the forum that left me almost as confused as when I started - probably should read it all again...

I fished this label out of the bass. Does this mean it may be an old Musima/Eberle bass? It does kind of look like one but I think maybe a lot of basses look like those.

Edited: BTW was Schroetter in East Germany?
