so after much anticipation I think that my search for a mini "huge" rig is at an end. I had been scouring TB looking for the perfect solution to my problem. I live right in boston, and having a car is a pain in the behind, thus, I have no car. so getting to a gig can be a real problem. luckily my bandmates (most of em anyways) have cars a couple towns over at their parents places, and Ive been able to get my rig places. my main rig for awhile was a fender 4x10 (~80 lbs) and an SWR Goliath JR 2x10 with an ATA rack case which held a QSC RMX 1450 which is 40 lbs. so in total my rig weighed in at around 200 lbs. also, to be noted is that my rehearsal space is two floors underground with no elevator, and most of the time I have to carry all of my rig upstairs without any help...you can see why I would be provoked to slim down my rig 
anyways...the 1212L arived via DHL today and out of the box, I was happy. jorg shipped this cab very well.
the cabinet is constructed very very well. jorgs attention to detail is great and the handles are a dream come true! quite the easy carry... definitely the easiest to carry cabinet that I have ever come across. Im not a huge fan of the tweeter level knob at an asthetic level but looks aside, the knob makes it very easy to tell what level it is at if you're reaching from behind and cant see the knob which is a nice thing.
now on to what most people care about...the way it sounds!
Im running my bass, which is an active conklin 6 string into a joe meek threeq which is a pre/compressor/eq half rack thing, into a QSC PLX1602 which is 500 w into 4 Ohms
I turn the level on the PLX halfway and play a note and Im already blown away by how loud it is! this cabinet is obviously incredibly efficient. I turn the PLX up all the way, and I play a lick or two and the low mid bump that schroeders are known for is very apparent and sounds kind of boxy without the tweeter. Dialing in the tweeter a little bit takes almost 100% of that away. This is very minimal even without the tweeter and MUCH MUCH MUCH less than any other cabinet of this size including an Epifani 112 I had on hand to compare. in a band setting (see below for more) any boxy-ness dissapears and this tiny thing sounds huge! also, Im very impressed at how easy it is to hear this cabinet that is so low to the ground (the 1212 is 16 inches high)
I was curious as to how it would sound if I turned it up so the baffle mounted 12" was facing upwards so I did and there was a noticeable difference. I was able to hear myself alot better and the upper mids seemed more prominent, but Im pretty sure thats because the driver was facing up torwards me. while I was doing this, I didnt have my rack on top of the cabinet since I was switching back and forth between on its side and flat so I put the rack on top of the cab while it was on its side, and the sound was dampened considerably and I had a harder time hearing myself although, not any less than when it wasn't on its side. obviously the sound of the baffle mounted driver is effected by the side it is facing vibrating quite a bit. sitting on the top of it proved it
so far, this cabinet is EVERYTHING I've looked for in a portable/powerful cabinet! its loud as hell and I still have yet to try my plx1602 bridged (1600w into 4 ohms) which is what Jorg Schroeder uses with his (and I quote) "Loud Hendrix gigs." I played with my band for a little bit today and still, amazing! I could hear myself like never before. this cab will make you change your technique if you're not used to such a revealing cabinet, because this cabinet allows everything to shine through, including the bad!
I was skeptical that this would give me what I wanted, coming from using a 4x10 + 2x10 to The Schroeder, I was expecting a compromise at least at the level of being able to hear myself well on stage, but I was proven wrong! this cabinet makes it so much easier to hear yourself. you can go from a nicely sized rig, and be satisfied with this tiny cabinet, it's possible!
one last thing, Jorg is the most personable person in the business, he is prompt with emails, and tries his hardest to make you satisfied. I was amazed by how he treats his customers!
