This video (click) of Larry Graham confused me a bit. He is talking about pedals amd plays through his favorite fuzz pedal and then plays an awesome bit of what I thought was fuzz/distortion through a "Jet phase" pedal that isn't made anymore. Is that kind of sound attainable through phaser pedals?

Phasers versus distortion

Yes, although the Jet Phase is the holy grail and some aren't satisfied until they own one. Be warned that phasers are notorious for eating up bottom end.

For clarification, you can get a very good approximation of the Jet Phase by running any good fuzz into any good phaser. Some people even prefer the results they get that way to the real deal.
Not all phasers eat the bottom end (the new EHX Nano Small Stone, for example, is awesome on bass), but few are like the Jet Phase... 
And his shoes, socks and belt also. I am kinda surprised at the black guitar strap.
He definitely has some chops as well as style. The other parts of that video show up in "related" and they are just playing with lots of zooms on his hands.
