I'm interested in how cheap people can make a formitable rig. I'm thinking of the mini rigs of doom but if you have a larger one that you put together cheaply, then go ahead. I'm poor, so this is really interesting to me.

I used to have a really awesome, CHEAP rig of doom. (No pictures here, I'll try to add one when I get home.)

My "mini rig of doom, kind of on the cheap"
Trace Elliot AH250 (from the mid 80's) - nice sounding head. I'm a fan. I paid $350 used.
Eden D210 XLT - used $335
I'll attach the only picture I have, but the rig is partially blocked by my basses. For less than $700 I think it sounds very good and gets plenty loud.

2x12 Eminence Kappa Pro cab, about $75. I had the KP12s from a LONG abandoned series of PA cabs I had, so they were "free".
Brice Douglal 5, 5str jazz bass: $150
Total, before shipping: $270, for the bass and the rig. Can hang with anything I'd wanna do. I have nicer stuff, don't NEED nicer stuff.

Hmm, can't find the prices on my stuff anymore. Looks like Northern Sound and Light doesn't carry QSC or BBE anymore?? Thought I got a pretty great deal on those items, I'd say around $375 for the QSC RMX 1450 and maybe $250 for the BBE Bmax? Put them on top of an Avatar B115H for about another $250 or so and total it up to about $875.00. All brand new. Used Gator rack case- seems like I paid $60.00 for that. So maybe with the speakon cable and shipping I could be right around $1000.00 total. Maybe not ultimately cheap, but nowhere near what a lot of the talkbassers rigs!
