I loaded the 2X15 with some Eminence Kappa's that had already way more than paid for themselves, (I've had 'em in various cabs for the past 6 years), so I'll call them free... Even though it's not a very well known cabinet, this is one of the better 2X15's that I have heard/played...

Better yet.........where did you get the Ampeg Portabass 250 with Portabass 12 cab for $370?

I got the cabinet at the local GC for $100; they were blowing them out for $200, and had sold all of them except the floor model. I took it to the counter and it rang up as $100, so I paid the man and got the hell out of there! I got the head off Ebay for $270.

I'll get pics as soon as I can. But here's the rundown of my original rig.

BBE 383 Preamp ($85) used
Crown CE1000 ($200) ebay
Steelsound 2x10 Madison loaded ($109)
Steelsound 1x15 Madison loaded ($159)

The end result was 1100 watts of foundation shaking power for $550.

I've upgraded to an Ampeg SVP-PRO preamp and downsized the amp to a QSC RMX850...a little lighter and I'm mostly using the tens alone right now for the gigs we've been playing. The PA does all the hard work so the 15 inch cab is pretty much collecting dust. I got the Ampeg for $199 lightly used. The QSC was new from Guitar Center (never again will I shop there....). The Crown became our amp for monitors.

Man, I can't even find a decent used SVT3 for around 500, much less the SVT3, a cab, a tuner, and a rack.

Here's my contribution...
Don't be fooled by the 200 watt power rating - I have to keep the volume at about 2 on this thing to avoid drowning out a Mesa half stack and a loud drummer

I have that exact rig. Loud as all hell and sounds great SANSAMPed.

Just grabbed a YRKV MM4D PA head (150 watts @ 4 ohms) and have it hooked into the xc115xc as a mini-rig. Sounds great with the Programmable SANSAMP. Nice and thick. Serioulsy thinking of adding another xc115xc.

I can carry it all in one trip, too. The MMD4 (and cables, pedals, etc) fits in a gym bag, cab is what, 45 lbs?

Head was $111.00 after taxes with the old SANSAMP as a trade in.

Cab was $400 but primarily used with the 210.

Now I have 2 (maybe 3 if I get the other 115) rigs for an extra $111.00. Not bad at all.

Can't wait to try it out tonight with the hard rock band.

The BM-400/Peavey stack gets distortion when needed, while the combo stays clean.

Awesome man. Yeah the head was advertised at $180 and there was a peavey mark 3 for $120, just don't want $40 to be misleading. 300watts at 4ohms and 450 at 2ohms which I have not had a chance to do yet but, very soon, hopefully

Go for it. This stuff really inexpensive when you buy it used.

My rig was a last minute emergency replacement purchase. I did not expect much from my Peavey gear but I have grown to like it a lot.
