Well, some of the same tone. The attack sounds fretted but the note sounds fretless, it's still pretty different. I remember some company offering this on a particular model, I think it might have been Vigier.No, not the pup covers, a metal bar that goes on the end of a fretless neck, so you can get the slap tone of a fretted.
It seems to me that if one wanted the slap sound of a fretted bass... They would buy a fretted bass...
