So on Thursday I received my new bass... and I finally am getting around to posting a review (and of course pics, since it does exist) First here's the basics:
Bass 62 is a 34” scale "Alto-bass" (Tuned C#, F#, B, E-a major sixth above standard tuning). The body features ash wings with a mahogany core and a spalted maple top. The five piece neck is constructed of maple and has Brazilian cherry stringers and a spalted maple epoxy coated fingerboard. A single, passive, Basslines soapbar pickup in the bridge position makes it sing. It was built by Tom Clement.

and now my thoughts... FRICKEN AWESOME is plays beautifully and sounds great! The wood and construction are absolutely amazing. Tom was great through the entire process and is a great guy if you're looking for an amazing handmade bass shoot him an email you wont be sorry!

That is out of this world! The fretboard and body seemed to me to be one piece at first! NICE!
And the strings are hard to see! Man!

Dude, I usually don't dig on "fancy basses" like that, but that's real nice.
I'd have been inclined to go ahead and leave the volume knob off...

Looks really nice. I don't know what it cost but, I have a good idea though.

I would think the electronics cover would be a better fit. Unless the pics just make it look like it.

Be sure to post some sound clips. I would love to hear it.

what the hell is up with that string spacing!?
it looks like there is an inch and a half between strings!

afterthought: is it because of the smaller strings?

Mr Walker and Slipdisc I paid less than a grand for it (but i supplies all of the hardware/pickup)

PocketGroove82 the string spacing is pretty standard at the bridge (the microscopic strings make it seem wierd) and the spacing at the nut is a little bit wider than that of a p-bass (this helps me accomodate my Ebow)

Incredible! I like bolt on SC designs too. Is there a certain string gauge where the ebow loses it's effectiveness? I've used one on guitar, but never tried it for bass.

Tom and I have corresponded a bit by email, he's a very nice guy, and some of his designs are right up my alley. That one is just sick! Great job, Tom; and congrats, Prof, on your new "baby"!
