you would have to be stone deaf not to hear him play :p :p

increadibly punchy and round slap sound, and of course, Jonas really, really knows how to play :bassist:

looks like somebody put the pickup in the right place on a piezo-equipped instrument. They always seem to do the neck pickup thing, thinking the piezo will take the place of the bridge pickup, which it doesn't. There is so little midrange coming out of the piezo that it's really a neck-pickup sound, in spite of its physical placement on the bridge; you need the bridge pickup to give you some punch.

Old Jonas knows what he's doing - incredible bass player. I hope his new Warwick stuff finally bucks the now age-old trend of large company = crappy sound.

And ooh, coaxial 10's. Wonder if those cones are aluminum or titanium? They've made titanium tweeters for eons, but nobody's done it in a larger driver TTBOMK (new acronym! To The Best Of My Knowledge), at least not for bass.

BTW Tom; how many cabs did you hook up at the GTG?
:D

the Markbass new Classic line with its sealed cab has really a vintage sound, no hifi from that combo ;)

I really fell in love with that R 500 at NAMM. It's the all-tube preamp from the Classic 300, with their 'standard' 500w SS output section. I thought it made for a great combo, driving either their new sealed cabs or their traditional ported designs.

The Classic 300 sounded pretty darned good, too, from the little I was able to play it.
