Thinking of getting a Rickenbacker

so i was surfing the web today and suddenly I saw a picture of a Rickenbacker. It was truly love at first sight. So i went onto musiciansfriend.com and looked them up and saw the "price too low to print" sign. so i was wondering, how much do these bad boys cost? i'm not the wealthiest person in the world, so i'd hope they weren't too expensive. if they're out of the $500-$800 price range, are there any good Rickenbacker copies that I should know about? Thanks in advance!

We all get Rickenbacker GAS. The lucky ones of us find a good deal and buy one, those of you who don't get to live with the GAS. Hope ya can save up the cash, you won't regret it.

BTW, check Craigslist and eBay for nice second hand ones thats what I did. Only a few things wrong with it, have to replace the output jacks, and the bridge mute was broken. Hell of a lot cheaper than buying new in Canada though. Found mine on eBay last September, but it sold to some guy in Italy, he couldn't afford shipping. I found the same bass on Craigslist 2 days later and emailed the guy. after about 3-4 days of price negotiating I finally got him down to $1240 CAD including shipping. In great shape too.

Good luck!
