I've just started a "different kind of Markbass thread" and would like everybody with interests and experience ala Markbass to chime in and answer a couple simple questions reguarding the cabs.
That said, I just bought (actually traded a bass for) a 104HF cab and that thing sounds absolutely amazing. The quality of these cabs just kills me for the price. I'm pairing the cab with a CMD 102P and the results are earthshaking. It still baffles me that the MB cabs haven't really caught on on TB yet.

So I'm an Ampeg SVT-CL + 6x10 guy here... Now I've come to realize this isn't a proper setup for small gigs and so I stop in the GC to try out a few combos. Lo and behold they got these tiny little yellow combos made with some space age materials which supposedly have great sound and no weight. They literally float.
I try it out and I'm impressed, I pick it up and I could see carrying a case in one hand and the combo in the other.
Here is my initial impressions:
That little 2x6', its cute how small it is. And suprisingly had some volume.
The 2x10 combo. More than enough for any situation I could forsee. But expensive and starting to get on the bigger side again.
The 115 combo. Very cool, but it did seem to vibrate quite a bit with the 5 string and the bass cranked. I guess thats to expect though.
Just wanted to chime in here a little and maybe get some feedback on the various combos, how they worked out for people. The epi 310 + Mark LMII sounds like an awesome combo. Are any of these becoming "the standard"?

I think the 104HF is a highly under rated cab. And it weighs next to nothing for such a loud cab.
Infact, its one of the 2 cabs i can think of (the other being the Epi 410UL - but thats in another price league) that are loud, light and low.

I'm in sales (finance actually) so costs are kind of important to me
Kosko----how small do you want to go ? Do you have PA support for loud gigs you could run a DI to the PA ?
I love my LMII and Mesa Powerhouse 1x12 for a "small rig"
If you wanted to go that small, I would think any quality 1x12 that can absorb the 8ohm/300w of the LMII would be great. Plus, you could always add another 8 ohm cab
like a 1x15 or a 2x10 to create something larger if needed.

I really like the sound of the LMII with a UL 112! (30 lb cabinet with a 6 3/4 lb head -- how cool is that?)
You might keep an eye on the MusiciansFriend website for "blemished" Epifani cabinets. I picked up a blem UL 112 series 1 for $305 a couple of months ago and there was nothing wrong with it that I've been able to find.

+1 I really dig the UL112 with both the UL502 or LMII. Nobody can ever believe I can get such a big, full sound from such a small cabinet. I routinely use my UL112 for rehearsals, and will likely start using it for some small jazz gigs soon.
Greg, that is a killer price on this cab! I can't believe they had it priced so low. The lowest I've seen for a blem UL112 on MF.com was about $450.
+1! I have one of those as well, and it is better, but for as small as that 110 based "rig" is, it's amazing what it can do.
Anyone use a UL110 stack with a LMII in a rock band(three piece)?

I haven't, but I can't imagine it would compete if you had no PA support. I'm sure it is a cool little setup, but you are always going to push more air with one big box as opposed to two small boxes.

That's nice. I design large caliber cannon systems for the Army. Costs are important to me too. I was wrong, and I understand what you guys are saying now, but I honestly felt I was right. I was simply adding the ratio of the two amps. Simple addition of fractions tells us that when adding two fractions with common denominators, you simply add the numerator. I was adding 1.17/1 (cost/watt) for amp one to 1.17/1 (cost/watt) for amp two. This gives 2.34/1. My math isn't wrong, but I see the reasoning was.

I know -- I've been logging onto the MF site almost every day for months since another TB poster got an incredible deal on an Epi cabinet that apparently was mismarked.
Their UL 112 might have been priced so low because it's a series 1 and the series 2's had been out for a while. I don't consider one to be better than the other, so I was really excited. The price was so low that I was afraid there would be some obvious ding somewhere, but nope -- there isn't!
A month ago, MF had a UL 410 series 2 blem for $1,099 shipped, which I considered briefly. But in checking around, I was able to beat that price considerably, which resulted in my finally getting a UL 410 (series II, not blemished)!
