Markbass Megathread PART 3

what would you recommend mark? (pop tart)

There is not really a Mark Bass product that does the job with enough power. The 800 watt amps are great and the SD1200 is superb, but neither have any tube grit on tap (although I have been talking to Marco at Mark BAss about producing a "little rocker" module for the MoMark, what this space!) - although adding an EBS valvedrive will get you there.

I would suggest the Genz Benz Shuttle 9 as a cost effective solution with plenty of grit is required.

The LM Rocker has the same class a/b amp module from the LMIII which is smooth on the high end and fat in the low mids - this sounds great for instant fat bass tones but not really what you want for a grindy/edgy tone for you 610 cabinet.

There are some other options but I do want to take this too much off topic, PM me or send me an email.

Regards

Mark

Question for you CMD 121P owners. I know you can run a 2nd 8 ohm cabinet with it; but can you use EITHER a Speakon or a 1/4" cable into the 121P? Or does it have to be one or the other? (I don't have the amp, so I can't just look and see.) The rhythm guitarist I've been playing with has one at his house where we practice. I'm thinking about taking one of my cabs over to utilize the entire 500 watts. Thanks!
