I just picked up the exact same cab this weekend. Its marled on the back as a Traveler 15 and is rated as 400 watts at 8 ohms. The horn on mine is silver and says Markbass right on the actual horn. Very cool cab. I have no idea of its history but was told its from 2003.

1 - been a while but i seem to remember it as being better than most amp compressors. how much better i can't remember but i usually hate them and this one i didn't totally hate.

2 - no, not really, though a natural artifact of distortion is compression, you can't call that compression, really. and it doesn't compress the clean sound.

Here are some pics of my new cab. Its a very warm sounding cabinet. The horn adds some sparkle but is nowhere near as "in your face" as most horn loaded cabs. All i know about this cab is that its a an 8 ohm 400 watt, rear ported cab with "Traveler 115" written on the back. Its extremely nicely put together and sounds very sweet with my LMIII.

Wow!

God blessed me with an eBay purchase of a used Markbass F1 at winning price of $430 USD (Just had to tell it :hyper:).

Played the normal Bible Study, Tuesday gig and was astonished. I normally use a G-K Backline 600 at 300 watts into a G-K Backline 4x10. I was okay with the sound. I knew I could get more out of the 4X10. Boyee did the F1 take the game up another notch. All the controls at noon, VLE at 10:00 o'clock and no VPF and master at little past 10:00 o'clock. Whew. This is the first time in a minute that I FELT my bass notes. It did not make a difference at what volume I played the note. Even the drummer was happier. The Lakland DJ 5 just sung...

This takes the Markbass to the next level.

I have just begun to explore this Lil' Beast. Markbass might have a convert for life. So small but so friggin' powerful. I will let you guys know how goes.

Can someone help me with the tonal diferences between the LM tube and the TA501 and the TA503?

I've tried the LMIII and the the LM tube and found them very similar in tone with a slight increase in warmth with the tube.

How does the TA series compare tonally to the above mentioned?

Maybe you guys can help me out. This forum has always been really helpful for me.

I recently joined up with 2 new bands that practice at different locations and am sick of moving my rig around so much.
I am most interested in picking up a Markbass Mini CMD 121P. I am pretty sure that with 2 of the bands this will be enough for rehearsals. (based on what I have heard here and my experience playing it in the GC) but not sure about with the 3rd band as the drummer is crazy loud and the guitarist turns up like crazy to compete with him. I would like this to be my gigging amp as well as I am not rich:)

Anyway, here are my questions.
Do you guys think an older Avatar Cb115 would be a decent match as a 2nd cab for when I want it? (its seems opinions vary a lot about mixing a 15 with a 12) (There is a used one nearby for cheap) Or would I prolly be better off buying a new Avatar b212neo... any one use just the SB112neo as a ext cab for this? ( I don’t have the opportunity to try this setup out before ordering)

If I need to wait another month to pickup my ext cab, based on real world exp, do you think the combo would be sufficient until then? All of our gigs have PA support, but I still want the band to hear enough of me in practice.

If it makes a difference on anyone’s suggestions/opinions the bands are a SOAD tribute, a typical punk band, and a softer acoustic group. All three very different styles, very different sounds.

Ignore the sig... thats not my current gear anymore!.. but that 1810 was a beast!

im considering a momark TA 500 with a bergantino nv610 what do you markbass experts think? I never even considered trying markbass untill i was sorely dissapointed testing a GK 1001 rb then tried the nice little yellow LM 3, great big punchy sound, i was just wondering if the tube would add a little more aggression to the tone of it or if it makes no difference im not looking for a full on dirty rock sound as i wasnt to use it for jazz and smaller gigs.

The tube on the MoMark adds a very small amount of warmth, I would suggest the Little Mark Rocker (new) that adds grit and edge - I have found these work well, although to be fair I would go for more power to really open up the NV610.
