I also "checked other" fretted for guitar and mandolin. Probably should have checked "other fretless" for DB as well.

Fretted fives. I own a couple fretted fours but they feel incomplete to me now.

One day I'll get a fretless five... or convert one of my fretteds.

Right now I'm playing 4 string fretted, 4 string fretless, 5 string fretted, other fretless (I think the Ashbory qualifies as 'other'), and I went ahead and marked 8 string doubled fretless since I'll have one in the next couple of months when Curbow finishes it.

Later this year, or early next year, I'll be adding 6 string fretless to the list, as well.

Good poll! I still play 4's. Even though I'm contemplating the switch with an MTD 535 and maybe picking up an 8-string for kicks, I'm a 4 string guy at heart

But, in stores and ads, I see what appears to be a majority of 5's out there and even some 6's, while 4's seem to almost take a back seat.

Anybody else notice this?

I just brought this up because as of my voting, 4's still outrank 5's in the popularity poll

At the moment a fretted & fretless 4, fretted 6, and a fretted 5 that is in the case in the closet. Looking to get a fretless 6 in the near future.

I play both a fretted and a fretless 4. I'm currently really leaning toward the fretless. I've been playing that almost exclusively the last few months.

I have a 5 string fretted in the works, but, since it's a few months away from completion, I didn't put it in the poll.
