Let's see, I run an 8X10 powered by a 350 watt head. I plan to get a couple 1X15s to stack on either side for a little more punch. These will be driven by a 1000 watt power amp.

That's a lot of power, but in reality you will likely only use half, or less than half of the available power.

If I have PA support I simply use the 8X10 cab as a monitor.

I've done many shows with only a Fender Rumble 60 (definately a bedroom amp). But of course with a mic in front of it. As far as no PA support my 450W has been enough. 90% of the shows I have done have had a good PA with stage monitors, and "sometimes" a good sound guy. LOL Sooooo...I'll vote 500W that seems to be a good happy medium.

I NEED no more than 50w. I do gigs all the time with a 30w amp. But I also have a 300 and a 500 watter just in case. Still, I doubt I turn up to where I'm using more than 50w anymore.
