Recommend a Bass Guitar Strap?

Hello everybody,

Can any members recommend a perticular bass guitar strap that is good at distributing the weight well (ergonomic?). I read somewhere that some straps make it feel like the bass is lighter (does that make sence?). Thats what I want! Any specific brand? What should I look for?

Thanks a lot,

AL

Moody Leather straps are supposed to be the premier straps, but are quite expensive.
Moody

Comfort Strapps are very nice. I currently use those.
Comfort Strapp

And if you are on a budget, even the Planet Waves Comfort Wide Nylon Strap Collection are pretty good.
Planet Waves

Levy's also makes some nice stuff too.
Levy's

+1 on all of those.

Levy's gets my vote.
Just make sure you get the wiiiiiddddeeee one.
They have all kinds of materials and colors and patterns, etc.
Reasonable priced also.

I use a Levy's "artist series" ( I think ) thats wide and colorfully printed w/ a parrot. Jimmy Buffet.

It's on a early 80's, maybe late 70's Peavey Patriot....solid mahogany....solid heavy....helps a bunch!

I've come across this quite a lot here: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Might get one myself too.

Get this or any strap that uses neoprene like the Comfort Strapp. Your shoulder will thank you. I believe the Sadowsky one is much like the Neotech straps but with small modifications and the Sadowsky name (and price) attached to it.

I use the Neotech strap, but I want to also get a Comfort Strapp because it's larger and looks cushier. I've used Levy's and all sorts of others of varying material, but the neoprene stuff is the best.

I use a Heartwoodes Gordo Mahogany Fat Strap" and at first, when used with my Yamaha TRB4, even though the strap was pretty to look at - it kept leaving hickeys on my neck. When I started using it on my Koa, it was a match made in heaven!

Expensive - yes - but damn it's comfortable and it looks pretty. Funny thing is, I always get compliments on my *strap* of all things, whenever I play a gig.

I absolutely love it!
[edit] Oh, by the way, this Koa bass is very heavy as well - but it balances so nicely with the Gordo!

Check out Eyeland straps at Link Removed Heavy, padded leather strap with a tail piece that's hidden in the body of the strap. You adjust it by removing two screws, sliding the tail piece down, and reinstalling the screws. I think it's way better than the basketweave style especially when you're using strap locks. You can usually find them at Guitar Center.
