I was in Sam Ash today with my boy.
I commented about the $1000 price tage on the Geddy and the salesman pointed out a poster on the wall laying out Fenders price increases as of Feb 1st.
On the whole it looks to be a 20% increase.
$1200 for a Geddy?
Come on!

There's one in my local GC for $899. It wasn't there a couple of weeks back so I'm assuming it is new and not old stock.

As for price increases maybe Fender are trying the Gibson trip. From what I heard Gibson put the prices up on certain models (I think mainly LPs) and sold more!

Dang. Fender normally bumps their stuff annually by small increments of $50-100.

Not just Fenders, all guitars are going up in price. The price of a Gibson custom shop is shooting up like 600 bucks :/

Gibson seems to be over priced to begin with...I just did a quick Ebay search and found a Geddy Lee for $699...

I am not saying I agree with it, but every item I buy in the grocery store went up this year by about 20%. Eggs, Milk, Water...so I assumed the Musical Manufacturers will follow. But Bassist has a pt, makes all your used stuff worth more relatively.

Dude, paying for a Fender is already silly to me, beside the sound, I don't know what do you like of them, they're like a table with pickups, I mean "0" design and feel, they're too overvalued I think.
