That is a sweet-looking unit.
Looks like a nice job of refinishing/relicing and setting up.
If one wanted a good roadworn look, and a sweet player out-of-the-box...

I own a Squier VM Tele bass.... this isn't one of them.
Is this worth $800? Nope, but maybe $400, 500... (IMO).

Actually, a bass is about 6 feet tall, and stands on its endpin. These things ARE guitars.
sure looks like a done up squier to me....the grain on the body is identical to the grain on the stock photo on the squier website. maybe it's just me (and I rarely get like this), but I'm very skeptical on that one.

Seems it's a MiM fender... not a squire.. and with custom relicing etc it's not THAT bad a price...

In the sellers defense, $800 is the max he will accept.

The bass in the OP's link looks like the body finish was just scotchbrite wiped, but the neck has definitely been resprayed. In fact, the finish was sprayed right over the nut, which makes it easy to detect. I would imagine he'll take quite a bit less than $800 for it, but the first rule of negotiating is to "start high".
They're stock. I have a set here that I took off of the Squier VM Tele Bass that I recently rebuilt and refinned. I replaced them with Kluson/Fender 51 reissue tuners - MUCH better.
What I don't like about his auction is that he makes no reference to the fact that it is indeed a Squier in origin.
